SUNDAY 15 OCTOBER 2023 the ASD CICLO CLUB SPONGANO will organize the 6th edition of the CASTRO LEGEND CUP and will host the “X LEGEND” season FINAL again this year. After last year’s debut we are ready with new ideas to give effect to our big sporting event where the challenge within the challenge will take place in the last MTB event of the season!
Castro Legend Cup is a race included in the UCI – INTERNATIONAL CYCLING UNION Calendar and this year too it will be the end-of-season event where the master finalists of the categories of each trophy/circuit/challenge (even outside Italy) will be able to wear the shirt to represent him and will compete for the title of X LEGEND.
Even non-finalists can participate! or all Italian and foreign citizens, of both sexes, aged 19 and over, competitive and amateur categories registered with the FCI or foreign federation adhering to the U.C.I. or to a Sports Promotion Body recognized by the National Cycling Council. Bikers in the Juniores M/F and Juniores Sport M/F categories (17-18 years old) can only participate in the Granfondo route.
The event, therefore, is open to all athletes, even to those who do not follow any trophies and are not finalists!

Athletes not affiliated with any ASD will be able to participate in the event only if in possession of the FCI day pass which can be requested using the button below.

The X LEGEND competition is a CHALLENGE BETWEEN ALL TROPHIES (even beyond national borders) with master and agonist classifications on the longest routes (if they include both Marathon and Granfondo race tracks or only Granfondo), which take place throughout the national territory under the aegis of the Italian Cycling Federation (FCI), the International Cycling Union (UCI) or foreign federations adhering to the UCI. It is aimed at all the athletes who took part in the sporting year and classified in a useful position (first 5 in the category) and who will have to represent and defend the colors of their own trophy.

The X LEGEND will only be run on the Marathon course.
The challenge will be run only on the Marathon course (on a planned distance of 75 km and 1,200 m in altitude) therefore the athletes who will have access to the challenge will accept to run the longest race course. Any changes in the route of the athletes must be communicated before the closing of the registrations. Changes of race tracks are not accepted when registrations are closed or on the day of the race, under penalty of exclusion of the athlete.

X LEGEND will also be an opportunity for redemption for those who are in other ranking positions (in addition to the top 5) since it still provides prizes for the top five athletes of all categories for both the Marathon and Granfondo routes.

Above all, the event will be an opportunity for organizers and circuits from all over Italy to meet and exchange views, as well as sporting events taking place abroad.

All regional or extra-regional circuits and/or trophies (with events in more than one region) must communicate their membership by completing the form attached below and sending it to the email address asdcicloclubspongano@gmail.com by 28 February 2023. Joining the circuit guarantees its finalists (the first 5 classified in the master categories) free entry to the final, as well as opportunities for visibility and publication of the logo, name of the trophy, stages and characteristics. Media content and services created specifically for the dissemination of the initiative.

Adherence to the trophy is FREE, the only obligations of the adhering organization are: – communication of the dates of its calendar and subsequent date changes that some events may undergo;
– advertising on your website/social channel the info on the X LEGEND final to which your finalist athletes (first 5 of all master categories) will have free access;
– sharing the same spirit of collaboration;
– the sending of all periodic updates of one’s category ranking;
– the authorization to use the trophy logo, after sending it in vector format, for official communications and publicity of our organization;
– social sharing of advertising content and promos relating to the X LEGEND event.

PARTICIPATION BY EVENTS AND/OR CIRCUITS/TROPHIES WHICH TAKE PLACE ABROAD.
A trophy or event that takes place abroad means events or competitions that take place outside national borders under the aegis of foreign federations that are members of the UCI. All events taking place abroad or circuits and/or trophies taking place abroad (under the aegis of the respective national or international federations) can communicate their participation by completing the form DOWNLOADABLE HERE and sending it to the email address asdcicloclubspongano@gmail.com by March 31, 2023.
Joining the circuit or single event taking place abroad will guarantee its finalists (the first 5 classified in the master categories) free entry to the final, as well as opportunities for visibility and publication of the logo, name of the event or trophy, milestones and characteristics. Media content and services created specifically for the dissemination of the initiative.

FREE ACCESS TO THE FINAL FOR THE FIRST 5 IN THE TROPHY CATEGORY PARTICIPATING IN THE X LEGEND.

Athletes positioned in the first 5 places in a category of a circuit adhering to the X LEGEND will have free access to our final. These athletes are required to indicate the circuit they belong to and their position in the standings when registering.
Route changes from Marathon to Granfondo by finalist athletes are not accepted. A finalist athlete who changes route will have to regularize the registration by paying the relative fee (based on the period in which the change is made).
